Thanks for checking out this newsletter! This newsletter is for all you story lovers who are interested in writing your own stories, who are interested in learning how to self-edit them, and who want to appreciate stories from a different perspective. Whether you’re a writer, a reader, or an editor, you’ll find content here that’s applicable to you.

I believe each person’s writing toolkit—thoughts on craft, writing techniques, editing techniques, etc.—is essentially an assortment of “tools” borrowed from other writers that you collect over time and make your own. There’s always a new piece of advice for you to pick up, a new technique to learn, if you’re open to finding it. And, as always, it’s up to you to make that advice part of your practice or not.

Hopefully, you’ll find a nugget of useful information in my newsletter that you can use in your own writing practice.

About Me

I’m Leah, a freelance fantasy editor with an MFA in Creative Writing from American University, and a publishing certificate from the Denver Publishing Institute. I keep my editing skills up to date by taking classes provided by the Editorial Freelancers Association, and those provided by Jane Friedman. I’m a member of the EFA and a member of ACES: The Society for Editing.

While I primarily edit fantasy, I’m open to working on all genres of fiction. I edit both novel-length works and short stories. You can learn more about my editing services at www.leahrambadt.com.

I’m also in the process of writing my first novel! I won’t go into detail about it here, but I may mention it in the newsletter while I work on it.

When I’m not reading books, writing, or editing, I’m usually geeking out over manga and anime, or the latest LEGO Creator Set.
